We recently reached out to our DJ/MCs with a little Q&A session. We thought it might be fun for you to get to know our Sound In Motion family a little better. So over the next few months we will feature each of our DJ/MCs and share their answers. Whether you’re interested in the industry, thinking of becoming a DJ/MC yourself or maybe even a prospective client - We hope the information will be insightful. Ladies & Gentlemen - Let us introduce you to the one and only DJ Andrew Rivas!

What made you want to be a DJ?

My Dad DJ'd before I did with SIM

What do you enjoy most about being a DJ?

I enjoy being creative with mixing music and playing to large crowds at sporting events.

What was the first concert you ever attended?

My Dad took me to John Lee Hooker at 3 months old. He took me backstage where John Lee Hooker looked at me and said "You've got you a blues baby".

What are you listening to in your free time? Favorite new bands?

I listen to a lot of R&B: Stevie Wonder, Prince, D'Angelo etc... Anderson Paak is my favorite new artist.

What’s something the average person doesn’t know about the duties of a DJ/MC?

Most would be surprised at the time that goes into the preparation of each event to make it feel seamless.

Who are some interesting people or artists you follow on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook?

I primarily follow friends and family on Social Media. My wife puts up some pretty sweet photos of our dog.
