Andy Acker

Andy started DJing in Minneapolis in 2012 with a large, full-service wedding & event company where he quickly became one of the top-requested DJs, as well as a house sound manager/ MC for one of downtown St. Paul's premier event spaces. A Minneapolis, Minnesota native, he has also lived in Colorado, where he earned an Interdisciplinary BA in Psychology, Religious Studies, and Music. He now lives in Los Gatos while pursuing a graduate degree in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in San Jose. Andy enjoys bringing diverse perspectives and back grounds together after working in education, fitness, and alternative medicine.

As a DJ, Andy enjoys helping his clients be a great host for their guests: presenting with an approachable personality and -as an MC- helping everyone anticipate upcoming events...without stealing the thunder of the stars of the day! This takes a lot of precision, careful planning, and coordination with other vendors, caterers, and the venue's site coordinator or event planners. A musician since his mid-teens and a student of music history, Andy enjoys a large collection of diverse music and is comfortable with many genres- whether it be pop, indie, electronic, classical, or international formats.

In his spare time, you might find Andy out for a run or hike on a Santa Cruz mountain ridge-line, writing music on the guitar, playing volleyball, practicing yoga, traveling, crashing an art opening, doing something ridiculous with his nieces & nephews, or sharing new ideas to stay inspired. A core value in his life is seeking understanding & new perspectives: all the while giving what he can to bring out the best in people.
