Welcome to Sound In Motion's Wedding Ceremony Music Planning Page!

Here you will learn about the musical components of the typical wedding ceremony.

These are the parts of the ceremony that usually have some kind of music associated with them:

  • Seating of the parents (parents of the groom are seated, usher escorts mother of the bride to her seat)

  • The Prelude -

    • Procession of the officiant, the Groom, the Groomsmen, and the Ring bearer (if applicable)

    • Procession of the Bridesmaids and Flower girl (if applicable)

  • The Processional - Procession of the Bride (usually escorted by her father or her parents)

The Ceremony then begins. Most of the time, there is no music, but some people like music played during special prayers or "Moments of Reflection" that are part of their ceremonies, or perhaps during the lighting of a Unity candle, if applicable. I can easily accommodate this , and will be happy to talk to you about it when we meet to finalize your planning.

The last piece of music is:

  • The Recessional - the last music piece, led by the New Mr. & Mrs. as they leave the altar

Here are some pre-formatted ceremonies for you to choose from - they are complete and ready to go and have been carefully designed to fit together well musically and thematically.
