2020 Bridal Fashion Trends
by Shawn Cavlan
Bridal Fashion Week was a major success and the looks are starting to hit the publications. A lot of tried and true looks have been freshened up and a few new trends are taking some of the spotlight.
Lace - Lace is always a mainstay in Bridal Fashion. What is different about this season is that lace is popping up in options that we haven’t seen before on the runways, giving brides more lace options for every style.
Tiers - Like lace, this is something we see in wedding trends often. However, this season the looks are very fresh. The tiers are simply not subtle this season. You can see everything from cream puff to modern day princess.
Puffy Sleeves - This is an update on the Boho bride with a bit of a Victorian twist. The looks seem to range from Little House on the Prairie to Pride and Prejudice.
Pants - These sleek dress alternatives are comfortable, figure flattering and totally new.
Hollywood Glam - Old Hollywood glam hit the runways with satin ball gowns and Art Deco inspired looks.
High-Low Hemlines - High-low asymmetrical hemlines are something we have seen before in bridal fashion, but it feels like this season you are seeing it in almost every collection.
70’s - It is as if everyone was reminiscing on Bianca Jagger’s iconic wedding suit.
Minimalism - Everytime there is a royal wedding, we are always inspired by the bride. Megan Markle took minimalism to the next level with her completely unadorned gown. This look is all about the cut and perfect tailoring.
In conclusion, we would encourage you to visit one of our favorite vendor partners Trudy’s Brides in Campbell, California as they always have the largest selection of the most current, cutting-edge trends in wedding wear and are happy to help you find your perfect style. And please, be sure to tell them that your friends here at Sound In Motion sent you!
