Music 4 Your 4th!

The Fourth Of July, as many call it, is the day we celebrate our victory in the Revolutionary War and the true and legitimate establishment of that which we call the American way of life.

We Americans typically celebrate by getting together during the day for some sports and activities, whether as participants or spectators, and then, as the evening unfolds, the most singular of Independence Day traditions unfolds: the fireworks display!

Whether it’s you and a few other folks blowing off a few classics in the streets of your neighborhood, a fun locally hosted municipal display or one of the mega-shows put on in our country’s biggest cities, the spirit is all the same: fun, fun, FUN!

When I was a kid, I remember that the local radio stations would always put together an “ultimate 4th of July mix” that they intended to be the soundtrack to the fireworks show, wherever you may have been watching it.

In my case, as a kid, it was listening to South Bay rock n’ roll giants like KOME 98.5 FM or KSJO 92.3 FM for those soundtracks, and they never disappointed.

So, in that spirit, we’ll offer up a few suggestions here as to some great fireworks favorites… and we’ll throw down a few genres too - not just classic rock! Some old stuff, some newer here, and importantly, a big disclaimer: NO POLITICAL STATEMENTS BEING MADE ; )

Enjoy!
